| For all of you who do not know, Austin has a dart association, Capital Area Darts Association. They have been around for quite some time now and are always looking for new dart players to join. As of now, the association runs two league nights, Tuesday and Thursday, with two different formats of play. Both nights require that each team be at least 4 members with one member of the opposite sex, you can have 3 guys and 1 lady or 3 gals and 1 gentleman, and that you throw out of a home bar or pub. There are fees, as such in every league. For the upcoming Summer season, the membership fee is a prorated $15 per player, which is for the entire year, and a season fee of $10 per player that is paid every season. There is a $40 pub fee which is paid for by the pub, or bar, and is usually invoiced to them.
The Tuesday format consists of 11 games. 4 Singles (2 x 501 single in/double out, 2 x Cricket) 2 Doubles Chicago (501 Si/Do, Cricket, 301 Di/Do), 2 Doubles 501 Di/Do, 2 Doubles Cricket, and a final Team 801 Di/Do.
The Thursday format consists of 11 games as well. 4 Singles Cricket, 4 Singles 501 Si/Do, 1 Doubles Cricket, 1 Doubles 501 Di/Do, and a final Team 801 game.
There are 3 different divisions of play. Bronze division is geared toward the beginner player and those who just like to hang out and have fun. Silver division is for the intermediate dart thrower who strives to get better and is just not quite there in experience. Gold division is for the top dog, tournament shooter, the out to win it all thrower. So, regardless of experience or skill, there is a place for you.
As of now, the Summer season will be starting May 12th for Tuesday throwers and May 14th for Thursday throwers. Sign-ups will be held April 28th at Austin 300 Bar and Grill and on April 30th at Raggedy Anne's, with both having sign-ups between 7 PM and 9 PM.
