Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill shares one night at the end of Billie Holiday's career. Exploring her turbulent life, this country’s racial strife, and the power of a singular artistic voice, this play combines Holiday's life story with songs like "What a Little Moonlight Can Do," "God Bless the Child," and "Strange Fruit." Colorado Springs actor and singer Cheerish Martin will bring Billie Holliday to glorious life for three weekends only.
Performances will be in the Shockley-Zalabak Theater at the Ent Center for the Arts, July 15-August 1, 2021. Performances are Thursdays-Sundays at 7:30p, with a matinee performance on Sundays at 2p. The performance will run approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission.
In recognition of the difficulties of the past year and the joy of returning to live performance, Theatreworks is able to share this production at the special ticket price of $21 per ticket.
