You don’t need a trip to the movie theater or a haunted house to get a taste of paranormal activity—Central City’s 12th Annual Creepy Crawl allows you to walk in the dark hallways and peek around corners in the city’s historic landmarks and visit off-limits, rarely-seen areas of the 150+ year old buildings. Voted one of the 10 Best Haunted Tours by Westword in 2013.
The 60+ minute walking tours are led by guides from Gilpin Historical Society and feature live, terrifying reenactments of murders, bone chilling ghostly encounters, and other creepy happenings at various haunted hot spots throughout town. All of the stories are based on factual events from Central City's past.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: THE START TIME AND DATE LISTED ON YOUR TICKET IS THE TIME IT IS GOOD FOR.
Tours are October 14th, 15th, 21st, and 22nd. Tours begin at 7:00 p.m., and a new tour departs every 20 minutes until 9:00 p.m.
Guests must check-in on the lower level of Century Casino, at 102 Main St., Central City, by entering through the Gregory Street entrance (southeast corner, across from the parking garage).
Advance purchase recommended as these tours regularly sell out; walk-up tickets are $20 at the door (depending on availability). Significant walking is involved, including steep hills and stairways, so sturdy shoes and a healthy spirit are a must. Tour attendees are encouraged to dress in layers, as the tours go on no matter the weather. Also, no children under 10 please.
