Description
The opening concert of the Philharmonic's 90th Anniversary Season is an historic arc, with one artist at the dawn of his career, one at the triumphant conclusion, and one still creating in the present day.
Event Details
Ninety-two years ago, a young George Gershwin isolated himself in a shack with a stack of music theory books in order to complete his visionary Piano Concerto in F. Fifteen years later, Sergei Rachmaninoff wrote his Symphonic Dances as a retrospective of a storied career. These two classics are presented alongside a world premiere from contemporary Seattle composer Anthony DiLorenzo, ushering in a brand-new decade for the orchestra at the foot of America’s Mountain.
