Colorado Springs

Description

It all began in 1879 when the Royal Gorge Route began traversing the narrows of Colorado's most coveted train line through the dramatic rocky cliffs of the Royal Gorge. For nearly 90 years, guests embarked upon an historic trip through one of Colorado's best-known natural wonders along the tumbling Arkansas and below the famous Hanging Bridge. In 1999, after a 33-year hiatus, this historic treasure was resurrected, mid-century railcars were renovated and fine dining and entertainment commenced again on the Royal Gorge Route, which was recently named Colorado's best train by Rocky Mountain News and one of America's Top Trains by Trains Magazine. Each year more than 100,000 guests from around the world experience classic railcar dining, wine train excursions, holiday family events and murder mystery entertainment aboard the historic Royal Gorge Route.
