Description

Willkommen to the little Imbiss, I was born and raised in Berlin Germany, I grew up eating and loving the street food that you can get on almost every corner at a food both what the Berliner’s call Imbiss which stands for snack. Eating the famous Currywurst that was invented in Berlin in 1949 with French Fries topped with mayonnaise or ketchup or both (it really is delicious). I was eating it at I met my husband Brian in 1988 who served least once or twice a week after getting out of school with my classmates on the way home riding on the subway. We did not have enough money, so us kids would split the fries or a Döner which the guy at the Imbiss would cut up for us so everybody could get a fair share The Döner Kebab soon became one of my favorite snacks, which is a Turkish Flatbread filled with a mix of beef and lamb that has been marinated with Mediterranean seasonings, topped with different vegetables and a yummy sauce. Each of these Imbiss locations would have their own sauces to make themselves stand out a little more and of course I did have some that were my favorites. But the bread that holds the meat was really unique; not too thick, not too thin lightly grilled so the bread would not get soggy. Just talking about it makes me hungry. My parents had a Imbiss when I was very little they served the traditional Currywurst, Pommes (fries) Bouletten (which are almost like a meatball patty highly seasoned.) Rostbratwurst, Schaschlick, Wiener Wurst. I remember sitting
