Rethreads endeavors to meet the clothing needs of local community members by providing free clothing to those struggling to afford the purchase of necessary clothing items. Every human being has the right to warm clothes, and La Puente strives to guarantee that right. Whether it is a warm, winter coat or a new outfit for a job interview, Rethreads is available for women, men, and children in the San Luis Valley. Anyone in need is welcome to visit Rethreads once per month. La Puente is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Colorado's San Luis Valley providing emergency shelter, food assistance, transitional housing, self-sufficiency services, homeless prevention, community outreach services, and job training for the homeless and other community members in crisis. La Puente endeavors to meet immediate needs and to empower people to live independently, with dignity. About Outreach Services: Outreach Services is the homelessness prevention arm of La Puente. It aims to stabilize families on the brink of experiencing homelessness or assist families already experiencing homelessness with reintegration by providing services such as rental, utility, medical, and dental assistance. These services assisted over 1,300 households in 2010. Outreach Services also has an ongoing furniture assistance program to provide clients with mattresses or other furniture they may need; all furniture given out has been donated to La Puente.
