Get to know The Carter Payne
Built in 1897 with land donated by General Palmer, this building was originally constructed as the Carter Payne Chapel, the first African Methodist Episcopal church in Colorado Springs. It was always intended to be a community gathering place, for celebrating, mourning, and meeting neighbors. Join us for an early afternoon of snacking, dinner, or weekend brunch.
